Speak

The call for speakers has now closed. Thank you to everyone who submitted. We will be in touch soon.

We are inviting the WordPress community to submit talks for WordCamp NYC 2014. This call for proposals will close on May 16 at 5pm Eastern Daylight Time (GMT-4).

Diversity of voices is important, so please don’t think that you need to be a WordPress celebrity to speak at WordCamp NYC.

Selection Process

After the close of the call for proposals, the organizing committee will do a blind review of all applications. After this initial ordering, we will review the qualifications of the individual speakers and also the location of the speakers (bonus points will be given to local speakers).

We will be judging proposals based on how they align with the philosophies of WordPress and the uniqueness of the topic. While this is a conference centered around WordPress, that doesn’t mean all presentations have to be strictly about WordPress.

Yes, YOU should submit a proposal

If you are asking yourself if you should submit a proposal, the answer is a resounding YES! WordCamp NYC seeks speakers from all sorts of backgrounds including (and especially) people who have never spoken at a WordCamp before.

Expectations

We expect all speakers to follow our Code of Conduct and to understand that they are speaking to benefit the WordPress community. Additionally, all speakers will be asked to agree to allow the presentation to be recorded and shared. An offer to speak will include the full list of expectations.
